With the recent passing away of legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic Polychromos colour pencil from the house of Faber-Castell may be one of the ways to pay homage to the great designers of yesteryears – after all, the Polychromos colour pencil, with its 111-year-old legacy, was the preferred writing tool for such maverick minds as Karl Lagerfeld and Ferdinand Porsche.
To celebrate the 111th birthday of this popular pencil, Faber-Castell has unveiled a limited edition metal case in four different sizes, bearing the traditional seal.
Within it are housed the famous Polychromos colour pencil – circular, fully polished, encased in cedar wood and available in up to 120 colours. This anniversary edition is decorated with a spectacular sunrise, the original design from 1908, a symbol for the start of a new era.
