Giorgio Armani has returned to his first love – tailoring – and launched the Hand Made To Measure service at two locations in Kowloon and Central.
Manned by specialised tailors from Italy, the tailoring service seeks to elevate the luxury brand’s level of craft and quality by customising suits down to the last detail. Each customer has the chance to choose his own fabric, lining and style of button, while also deciding on the silhouette and other details. The suits, which still preserve the classic Giorgio Armani style, are finished off with a personalised label.
Customers will receive swatches of fabrics at their homes or offices, allowing them to order a new handmade garment over the phone. They are also granted access to the designer’s studio and invited to take part in the design process.
Of the new service, Armani says: “To qualify as a true bespoke, or hand-made garment, there are certain elements you need to deliver. That is to say the suit should embody certain recognised characteristics of made to measure tailoring. The Giorgio Armani Hand Made to Measure suit includes them all.”
Appointments are welcome for the service, made available September 23 and 25 at the Giorgio Armani Canton Road store, as well as September 24 and 26 at the Central store.
