Bespoke footwear is a craft that provides the most discerning and stylish of gentlemen with made-to-measure shoes that fit the specific style and needs of its wearers. Traditionally hand-crafted from a wooden last that is used to mould an individual’s precise measurements and using only the highest of quality materials, it is a craft and premium service executed by only the most experienced and skilled of artisanal cobblers that ensures each individual’s comfort and unique style. Here are some of the city’s home-grown custom-made shoemakers.
1. Kow Hoo Shoe Company
One of the city’s oldest cobblers uses the traditional method of wooden shoe last to mould the exact fit of its customers’ measurements and Goodyear Welt construction to form a longer-lasting form that makes replacing soles easier to do. They keep customers’ lasts for at least seven years, making new orders (of any style, colour and material) from outside of the city possible.
