Check out what Mercedes-Benz unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show

From sporty off-roaders to electric city cars, Mercedes-Benz showcased an impressive new line-up at the 88th Geneva Motor Show. Here’s a rundown of the cars that caught our eye from the house of the three-pointed star.

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé

An addition to the successful AMG GT family, the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé promises more space and more power. The new coupé is the first four-door sports car from Affalterbach and beautifully links the legendary SLS and AMG models. “There are enough cars out there that are a moving compromise. The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé certainly is not. There’s plenty of space in the back – and plenty of performance in the front,” says Dr Dieter Zetsche, Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Mercedes-AMG G 63

Equipped with AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, AMG-specific driving programmes and optional widescreen cockpit, the G 63 has carved a space for itself in the highly competitive off-roader segment. Speed junkies will be particularly thrilled by the 430 kW (585 hp) 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine that helps leap the speed from zero to 100 km/h in a mere 4.5 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Merc’s most successful model range starts its fifth year of production with a list of upgrades, making it closer than ever to the higher-end S-Class. From stylish revisions to the exterior and interior design to better fuel efficiency, even the entry-level models, C 43 4MATIC Saloon and Estate nothing to be sniffed at. According to Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, “The new C-Class is available with most of the comfort attributes of the S-Class, all of its intelligent drive features – including its automated driving functions – and even more driving fun.”

smart EQ

Mercedes-Benz has ventured into the world of with smart EQ. Launched in two editions – EQ fortwo and forfour – these compact beauties are integrated into the Mercedes-Benz EQ family with the ‘edition nightsk’. Smart EQ comes with “smart EQ control” apps and a 22 kW rapid charger, both of which were displayed in Geneva, alongside the cars.

Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales, sums it up well. “We want to offer a tempting solution for every customer: from city car to off-road legend, from AMG performance to Maybach luxury, whether you are a geek or a family dad or a businesswoman,” she said, speaking to the press in Geneva.
