As part of Pure fitness centre’s #YogaForAll community campaign, Pure has launched a Yoga for Seniors programme this June. Keeping in mind the health of elderly people, the classes will focus on gentle exercises that relax the mind and soothe aching muscles.
With advancing age, many people fall prey to ailments such as osteoporosis and arthritis, and Pure Yoga classes aim to address these common ailments. Participants can expect to practice more seated and supine postures while being encouraged to use props for support. Pranayama, chanting and meditation may be included to relax the mind and increase concentration.
To increase awareness of the benefits of yoga, Pure Yoga will also hold outdoor classes on 17 June with instructor Angela Lohse as part of a fundraiser for Hong Kong Dog Rescue. Pet lovers can even bring their canine friends along for the fun, as long as they’re kept on leashes.
