Renowned luxury Italian fashion brand, Roberto Cavalli has opened up a pop-up shop in Hong Kong’s Harbour City mall. To celebrate the brand’s arrival to the city, Cavalli’s Creative Director Paul Surridge paid a visit to Hong Kong and spoke to Gafencu about the special occasion for the company.
Digging into the glamour and animalier of Cavalli’s collections, and most recently Surridge’s debut V1PER sneaker (worn by Kim Kardashian West), we spoke about consumerism, lifestyle and the evolving notions around streetwear.
The event hosted 200 guests including local celebrities, socialites and the brand’s top VIPs. In attendance was international supermodel Ming Xi, who initially walked the runway with Cavalli in the early stages of his career and is now a brand guest. He remarked “It is such a remarkable occasion and I feel really blessed to witness this moment”.
When asked why Hong Kong was chosen as the global launch for the pop-up store concept, Surridge noted, “Hong Kong is a natural choice, because the city is always so vibrant and energetic. Hong Kong never disappoints!”
