One of Hong Kong’s preeminent French food tasting events is back again this year to whet appetites with a wide array of aperitifs on 27-30 October.
More than 20 restaurants, bakeries, cheese shops, butchers and wine exhibitors will set up booths at the 13th incarnation of Apéritif à la française, part of the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival held at the Central Harbourfront Event Space. Big Fernand will be serving up its gourmet “Bartholome” burger, which was named the best European burger by the Wall Street Journal. Tartine, known for its French open-faced sandwiches, will also be in attendance. Other businesses that have joined the line-up include B.A.M, Répertoire Culinaire, Chez Patrick, À La Bakery, Le Cléret, Île de France, Monsieur Chatté, Fleur de Sel and more.
“We have received strong increase in our number of exhibitors this year, which makes us the biggest and most prominent country pavilion of Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival,” said Mathilde Prot, agency director of Sopexa, which is co-organising the event with the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
Acclaimed chefs will also give cooking demonstrations during the event, including an exclusive look at Michelin star Chef Philippe Orrico (of ON Dining, Upper Modern Bistro and Tartine) at work.
